NES Shoreline Areas

This data has been compiled in support of the development of the new Niagara Official Plan and should be considered DRAFT. The data and associated Natural Environment policies pertaining to its use, are not in effect until the final adoption of the new Plan. Subsequently, this data will be updated on a cyclical basis.

The interface between terrestrial and aquatic environments, allowing for interactions between them, providing: specialized habitats (e.g., natural beach, overhanging cover, bird stopover or nesting, etc.), natural cover, areas of shoreline erosion or accretion, nutrient and sediment filtration / buffering, shading, foraging opportunities
