Contemporary Mapping of Watercourses

This dataset is jointly owned and created by the Niagara Region and Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority. The Contemporary Mapping of Watercourses feature class contains hydrologically coded breaklines from the 2010 Ortho DTM with select updates from the 2013 Ortho DTM. The objective of this dataset is to provide a detailed 1:2000 scale inventory of hydrologic mapping with feature characterization from an inventory perspective. Each segment is imbedded with information characterizing the physical and technical attributes associated with that segment with an aim to inform surface water resource management activities. Additional water resource related features such as bridges, dams, and culverts as well as various segments from local Municipal stormwater networks have been included to show connections between surface and subsurface hydrologic features.
